Keep the Change Matching Fund Deposit

This week marked the one-year anniversary of my enrolling in the Keep the Change program at Bank of America. In that year, I've painlessly saved $110.86, a few pennies at a time, every time I used my debit card. It's true that BofA's interest rate on its savings accounts is abysmal, but what makes the program worthwhile is that BofA matches your deposits--100% for the first three months you're enrolled in the program, and 5% thereafter. The matching funds are credited to your account annually.

So this week my matching funds were credited to my account--an additional $35.43, bringing my BofA efund up to a total of $1161.06. I'm aiming at building this account up to enough to cover one month's mortgage payment (approximately $1600), so I'm roughly $440 away from that goal. Bit by bit, I feel like I'm getting somewhere.
